Job Title: Disability Support Worker

Location: Darwin, Northern Territory

Employment Type: Casual / Part-Time / Full-Time (based on availability)

About the Role:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently, participate in their communities, and achieve their personal goals. You will provide person-centred support tailored to each client's needs, promoting dignity, choice, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality support with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Support clients in accessing the community, attending appointments, and engaging in social and recreational activities
  • Assist with mobility and transportation using your own insured vehicle
  • Implement individualised support plans and maintain accurate documentation
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for clients
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members

Essential Requirements:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Working with Children Card (Ochre Card)
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Insured and roadworthy motor vehicle
  • Availability across a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to person-centred and trauma-informed care

Desirable Attributes:

  • Previous experience in disability support or a related field
  • Relevant qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar
  • Understanding of the NDIS and its principles
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, especially in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual, Volunteer

Pay: $32.56 – $34.68 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Education:

  • Certificate I - IV (Required)

Experience:

  • Working with people with developmental disabilities: 2 years (Preferred)

Work Authorisation:

  • Australia (Required)

Location:

  • Darwin NT 0800 (Required)
