Safety and Compliance Officer

As a Safety & Compliance Officer, you'll play an important role in shaping a proactive safety culture and ensuring our operations set the benchmark for industry regulations and standards. This is a permanent, full-time role based at our Quoiba Distribution Centre in Devonport, working closely with our Operations team.

What your responsibilities will be:

• Drive Safety Culture: Collaborate with operational managers to embed a strong safety, quality, and compliance vision.
• Manage Compliance Systems: Implement and maintain internal campaigns, systems, and reporting structures to promote proactive safety practices.
• Lead Quality Assurance: Oversee HACCP-based Quality Assurance systems and support compliance across multiple sites.
• Training & Development: Manage employee training needs and ensure accurate, compliant records.
• Ensure Legal Compliance: Provide guidance and reporting on Heavy Vehicle National Law compliance for on-road and off-road operations.
• Audit & Investigate: Conduct audits, document reviews, and lead investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor & Report: Maintain accurate employee records (training, certifications, licenses, incidents) and deliver safety and compliance dashboards to management.

What will you bring to the team:

• Relevant qualifications in safety, quality, or compliance (e.g., Cert IV WHS, HACCP training, Auditing).
• Demonstrated experience in safety, quality, and compliance within warehousing, logistics, or transport environments.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence teams at all levels.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles, workplace safety legislation, and continuous improvement practices.
• Proven ability to conduct training programs and lead group discussions.
• High energy with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Strong system and document development skills.
