St John Ambulance Australia is seeking an experienced manager to lead our brand and marketing function into the next phase.
Our candidate will have excellent communications, strategic planning and day-to-day marketing operations skills, and be hands-on with improving the marketing services experience within our diverse eco-system of stakeholders. They will contribute to protecting, promoting and growing the St John brand in Australia - thriving within a busy Australian Office team, and in collaboration across a federated not-for-profit network.

The role:
This position is part of the Senior Management Team at the Australian Office and reports to the CEO, whilst working collaboratively with Australian Office staff, and peers within State and Territory St John offices.
The role is responsible for day-to-day management of a small and busy team of staff, and a diverse portfolio including brand, marketing and communications. This role will lead a shift from a foundation-building stage to a more service-driven function, with streamlined processes, high-quality outputs, and strengthened emphasis on brand-marketing.
What you will bring to the role (criteria):
- Qualifications e.g. Marketing, Communications, Business (or equivalent demonstrated understanding and experience)
- Demonstrated experience in managing high-performing functions/team.
- Proven results implementing brand, marketing and communications programs, campaigns and activities.
- Highly developed professional communications and stakeholder management skills.
- An ability to thrive in a complex governance structure / eco-system with often competing demands, deadlines and constraints.
- Leadership and collaboration skills – helping to contribute to a proactive, positive and high-impact culture.
Special Conditions:
- This role may require occasional interstate travel.
- Occasional over-time work may be required to meet deadline or attend events. Time in lieu may be approved.
- Availability to work from the Australian Office in Deakin ACT, with allowances for reasonable work from home/hybrid/remote work and flexibility.
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia as a citizen or with full unrestricted work permit or visa.
- A National Police Check is required upon appointment to the role and every three years thereafter.
- Appointment is subject to maintaining a valid Working with Children Check.
