About the Position

As the Lecturer – Hairdressing, you will be responsible for delivering training in Certificate II in Salon Assistant, Certificate III in Hairdressing, and the Certificate III in Barbering. The job role involves teaching students at the Palmerston campus.

About You

To be successful, you will require:

  • Possession of the following.

    o Certificate III in Hairdressing (with a minimum of 3 years post trade qualification) work experience.

    o TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or its successor as outlined by the Australian Skills Quality Authority Framework) or the ability to enrol and complete the TAE40122 within 6 months.
  • Demonstrated experience providing training either within a workplace setting or educational institution.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in a culturally sensitive manner with internal and external stakeholders to whom English may not be the first language.
  • Contemporary knowledge of the Hairdressing / Barbering Industry and associated organisations.
  • Competency with the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software packages.

Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and NT Working with Children clearance. Must be able to work flexible hours as required

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at VET Academic Level A. The base salary will be in the range of $76,604 – $114,924 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $89,626 – $134,461 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
