We have an exciting opportunity available for a Supervisor Field Services to join the APA Networks team in Currumbin QLD, on a permanent fulltime basis.

Reporting to the Manager, Queensland Regional Operations you will be responsible for the management of a team of technicians and field operatives whose role is to maintain and construct gas mains, services and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance management, emergency response management, site supervision and administration duties
• Ensure all work is performed to meet safety, environmental and legal responsibilities in accordance with standard work practices, by on-the-job monitoring and the provision of suitable training
• Provide effective leadership and supervisory management to the function, driving effective communication and change leadership
• Work closely with the Projects Team to ensure required fabrication items are on schedule and resources are being assigned to correct priorities
• Provide proactive thought leadership and strategic insights around activities contributing to the achievement of the overall APA business strategies

Your background

• Technical trade or engineering background with QLD Gas Fitting Licence
• Industry experience or knowledge of gas distribution pressure control
• Strong gas industry experience and demonstrated ability and knowledge in maintenance of pipelines and pipeline facilities
• Able to understand and interpret construction drawings, codes, legislation, regulations, Australian standards, and company policies
• Leader who can effectively manage internal employees and contractors.
• Provide high quality advice and use analysis, experience and critical judgement to make informed decisions

Networks manages and operates transmission pipelines and local distribution networks that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.  

This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects, including 2032 Olympics.  Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.  We need people who are courageous, nimble and ready to make a positive impact.
