About the**
Role
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Assurance, Sandfire offers a unique opportunity for a Risk Specialist with 7–10 years of experience who is seeking to progress into a Principal Risk Advisor role in the future. This role will support the business (Assets and Functions) to implement the Risk Management Standard and Procedure to identify, assess and manage their risks. This role will also be an essential part of building Sandfire's system of risk management and will have the opportunity to use their risk expertise as part of improvement initiatives to empower the business with a practical understanding and application of risk manage
ment.
The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of skilled and experienced Risk and Assurance professionals, who will provide guidance and a clear development pathway toward a future Principal

Responsibilities (Include but are not limit**
- ed to):
Developing and executing a rolling risk plan (The Plan) which is focused on key risk activities, including reporting, risk deep dives, risk assessments, training, improvement initiati
- ves etc.Assisting with risk reporting and analysis (for senior leaders, Executives and the Audit and Risk Committe
- e (ARC).Building a network of risk practitioners across the business and supporting a Community of Practice, allowing risk and control owners to share lessons and to collaborate on technical risk top
- ics etc.Being known as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in risk management, who stakeholders in the business reach out to for support and g
- uidance.Facilitating Risk Workshops (using Sandfire Risk assessment methodologies and techniques e.g. BowTie Analysis). This i
- ncludes:Preparing for the workshops with key stakeholder
- inputs.Running the workshops with a degree of structure, allowing for key inputs to support the desired o
- utcomes.Providing specialist input and support to Group Functions and Assets to build out their first line assurance programs over their material risks. Where needed, assisting the Assurance Principal with inputs to support Functions in designing 2nd Line programmes, fit to the context and scope of their Material risks and control envir
- onments.Assessing the implementation and maturity of Risk activities across the Functions and Assets, identifying and supporting further improvements. This is a key part of risk 2nd Li
ne work.
- About YouCommercial and/or Engineering Degree & Risk Certification (R
- MIA etc.)Experience designing and implementing risk management (preferably within a mining
- context)Experience in facilitating risk workshops, performing risk deep dives and BowTie
- AnalysisRisk Reporting and the use of risk technologies (using contemporary practices associated with reporting risk trends and themes including tracking risk data for insight), including the use of
- PowerBI.A working knowledge of 1st and 2nd line assurance related
- to risks.Knowledge of health, safety and risk management systems and their interrelationships with Enterprise Risk Management (at a process and technolog
- y level).Strong understanding of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 31000 s
- tandards.Exposure to risk facilitation technology applications (e.g. Mural and MS Whiteboard) and how this can be used when assessing r
- isks etc.Fully capable in designing Critical Controls and associated Verificati
- on Plans.Excellent process and control mapping skills (using Visio or similar tech
- nologies)A solid understanding of risk and control ta
