Purpose of the role

The Career Consultant provides support for Omnia Inclusive candidates/participants in preparation for employment and/or life skills. They play a critical role in ensuring candidates/participants are supported and fully understand the employment preparation and placement requirements and pathways available to them.

About the role

Career Consultants work closely with Business Relationship Consultants and Workplace Consultants to leverage employment options to ensure they have the appropriate skills, experience, fit for the role and that the employer provides a supportive work environment committed to their success.

In this role, some of the key responsibilities include:

• Conduct one-on-one consultations with clients to assess their career needs and goals

• Develop personalized career plans based on client assessments

• Provide guidance on job search strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, networking, etc.

• Assist clients in identifying potential job opportunities that align with their skills and interests

• Support clients in overcoming barriers to employment or advancement

• Monitor client progress towards achieving their career goals

• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and labor market information

About you

The suitable incumbent would have:

• Demonstrated experience and success in end-to-end candidate support and/or to marketing and promotion of candidates to employers
• Capacity to provide employment and life skills readiness support participants workshops and skills development
• Familiarity with job search strategies and resources
• Experience in resume writing and interview preparation
• Demonstrated understanding of the importance of good compliance and risk management in day-to-day activities and capacity to support others in achieving quality, consistent outcomes and ensuring effective documentation and audit trail for decisions and activities.
• Experience working within the Disability Employment Services would be desirable
