Responsible Manager – Digital Asset Management Platform (Australia)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established international fintech organisation entering the Australian market to offer next-generation digital asset management and trading services.

They are seeking an experienced Responsible Manager to lead the regulatory, licensing, and compliance strategy for their Australian operations. This is a rare opportunity to play a foundational role in setting up compliant operations for a rapidly growing digital wealth platform backed by a global brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Responsible Manager under ASIC's Regulatory Guide 105 (RG105) for the company's AFSL activities.
  • Oversee the AFSL application and/or AUSTRAC registration processes, ensuring all local obligations are met.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain AML/CTF programs, compliance frameworks, and governance structures.
  • Liaise directly with ASIC, AUSTRAC, and external counsel on regulatory matters.
  • Monitor changes to digital asset regulation and provide strategic input to global leadership.
  • Embed a compliance-first culture while enabling commercial growth.
  • Partner with internal teams on localisation of products and customer processes in line with Australian law.

About You

  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in financial services, fintech, or digital assets.
  • Proven experience as a Responsible Manager, Head of Compliance, or Regulatory Affairs lead under the AFSL regime.
  • Deep understanding of ASIC and AUSTRAC regulatory frameworks and licensing requirements.
  • Strong experience implementing AML/CTF programs and compliance monitoring.
  • Exceptional communication skills and credibility with regulators and senior stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, finance, or compliance preferred.
