Structural Engineer Job Description:

Structural Design & Analysis:

  • Lead structural design of telecommunications infrastructure, such as towers, monopoles, guyed masts, and rooftop structures
  • Perform detailed structural analysis and modeling using specialised software like SpaceGass, MStower, Tedds and Checkpole
  • Prepare, review, and certify engineering calculations, design reports, and specifications as per Australian standards

Technical Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Provide professional advice and technical support to clients, internal colleagues, and junior engineers
  • Mentor and train less experienced members of the engineering team
  • Contribute to the development of design guidelines and standards

Compliance & Quality:

  • Ensure designs and services are fit for purpose and comply with relevant codes and regulatory standards
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor work and check conditions
  • Demonstrable integrity and high personal and professional standards

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Communicate ideas and information effectively, both verbally and in writing

Key Skills & Qualifications

Education:

A degree in Structural Engineering is required.

Professional Registration:

CPEng and RPEQ.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated a minimum of 5 years of comprehensive experience in the structural design and analysis of wireless telecommunications structures. At least one year of validity in professional registration.
  • Fully familiar with Amplitel Deployment Rules, including the preparation and sign-off of F01 and F04 forms.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Sound understanding of Australian Standards related to telecommunication structures.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SpaceGass, MStower, Tedds, Checkpole).
  • Ability to prepare concept and detailed design drawings.
  • Ability to provide a strengthening solution for the overloaded structures
