About Us:

Seeding Natives Incorporated is a not-for-profit environmental organisation dedicated to restoring native grasslands and associated ecosystems from the ground up. We specialise in direct seeding, native seed production, and ecological management of remnant and restored grasslands. Our work combines ecological integrity with innovative machinery and methods, delivering high-impact restoration outcomes.

About the Role:

We are seeking motivated and skilled individuals to join our seasonal team for field-based restoration work. As a Field Technician, you'll assist in on-site native seed mix creation, weed management, site preparation activities, seed production area maintenance and site management of restoration projects. There is a possibility that this position could become a long term role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate tractors, boom sprayers, and other field equipment.
  • Undertake chemical weed control in native grassland settings.
  • Assist with direct seeding operations and seed production tasks.
  • Maintain accurate field records and follow ecological best practices.
  • Work safely and efficiently as part of a small team in outdoor conditions.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current Pest Technician's Licence.
  • Current car drivers licence and own transport, MR preferable.
  • Demonstrated experience with boom spraying and herbicide application.
  • Proven ability to operate and maintain tractors and field machinery.
  • Own a smartphone and confident in using apps.
  • Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in variable weather.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team and follow ecological guidelines.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the environmental sector.
  • Knowledge of native Australian grasses and wildflowers and sound ID skills.
  • Certificate, diploma or bachelor degree in environmental management.
