About the Role
- Fixed term (Leave Replacement)
- Full Year, Commencing Term 1 2026
- Teaching English (Middle and Senior Years), with additional methods (Politics and/ or other Humanities) highly desirable
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that foster critical thinking, creativity, and literacy skills
- Contribute to curriculum design and assessment practices within the English Faculty
- Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to engage diverse learners
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance programs and promote excellence in English
- Uphold MGGS's commitment to child safety in all aspects of teaching and school life

About You:
- Hold current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or can gain VIT registration. Teaching graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Deep understanding of curriculum requirements and best practice teaching strategies
- A passion for literature, writing, and fostering student voice
- Skilled at building meaningful, respectful relationships with students and colleagues
- Enthusiastic about introducing innovative, student-centred teaching methods that inspire and engage
- Collaborative and creative mindset, committed to enhancing learning programs and student outcomes

- As MGGS staff, volunteers, contractors, and any other members of our school community involved in child-connected work, we are responsible for supporting and promoting the safety of children.
- We are committed to the safety, participation and empowerment and protecting of all children / students in our care and adhering to our Child Safety Policy.

- We have zero tolerance of child abuse and are committed to the protection of children from all forms of child abuse and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently with our robust policies and procedures. Our policies and procedures will provide the name and contact details of staff who have specific responsibilities in relation to child safety and who may receive reports of suspicion of child abuse. Child abuse includes sexual offences, grooming, physical violence, serious emotional or psychological harm, serious neglect and a child's exposure to family violence.
