About SNAA:
Susanne Nelson and Associates (SNAA) is an "outreach" Occupational Therapy Service for children aged 0-16. SNAA provides therapy for children either in their family home, their Kindergarten or School setting. Susanne Nelson formed the organisation as an outreach provision in 2006. She believes that therapy should be delivered in the setting where the child's needs are the greatest and outcomes can be best achieved with all team members working towards the same goals. SNAA utilises a "Family Centred Practice" framework, and incorporates their interests of cognitive behavioural/affective training, anxiety management, social skills and
sensory modulation when working with children and their families.
SNAA currently consists of fifteen Occupational Therapists and four allied health assistants, providing therapy services for over 160 families in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Together with the support of the Director, the Assistant Director, and Accounts Manager, enables the company to provide a high level of service delivery for its staff, families and neurodiverse children. SNAA prides itself on its efficiency, professionalism, Medicare, NDIS, and Autism knowledge and excellent communication skills at all times with its affiliates.

Child A
- Casual hours 9 hours across 3 days (10.30am - 1.30pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).
- Support within the child's Kindergarten in Camberwell during school terms.
Position Summary:
The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) will be passionate about supporting the client / family and SNAA Therapist, in providing set Occupational therapy tasks and activities, prescribed by the OT supervisor. The AHA will be also committed to the ongoing relationships with the client / family and affiliated professionals involved if required.
• The AHA will be client / family service-focused, providing a mature, caring and professional representation of SNAA in person, over the phone and through email.
• The AHA will invest into the professional development of the role required through ongoing training; mentoring, feedback and supervision provided by SNAA, to ensure duties are performed at a professional level and are focused on achieving the company's and family's goals.
In order to effectively achieve the above, the AHA must be well organised, honest, efficient and an excellent communicator. The position is seen as an integral part of SNAA supporting its current clientele.
Key deliverables and accountabilities:
• Follow and conduct necessary tasks and activities as outlined within the client's individualised Occupational Therapy home program.
• Immediately and professionally respond to client needs or concerns and communicate
this to your supervisor.
• Maintain/ promote general strong working relationships with client's family, your OT supervisor and SNAA management (e.g. Director, Assistant Director, Account Manager)
• Liaise and work collaboratively with the client's family, your supervisor and Director regarding the client's Occupational Therapy program or any additional concerns / observations needing support.
General administration duties:
• Attend supervision meetings on a weekly basis
• Complete file notes for each home visit using company templates
• Completion of time sheet at the end of each working week
• Ensure staff qualifications are up to date at all times and kept on file.
Education and Training:
• Studying Bachelor / Masters of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
Knowledge and experience:
• Experience (desirable) or interest in developmental paediatrics, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorders.
• Ability to deal with a diverse range of clients in age, culture, mental health, Autism Spectrum disorders and other backgrounds
• Computer literacy and experience in office programs (particularly Excel and Word) in order to communicate client's progress and liaise with SNAA management.

• Demonstrate positive values including caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Maintain high standards of presentation and personal grooming.
• Punctual in both attendance on shift and supervision meetings.
• Drive a strong safety culture within client's home environment.
Must have:
• Current Australian National Police Check
• Own car
• Current Working with Children's Check
• Be a permanent / Australian citizen / live in Melbourne, Australia.
