Wangara, Western Australia Fairclough Corporation Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

The Centre for Advanced Transport Engineering and Research is a Multi-disciplined engineering company located in Wangara (Perth northern suburb), specialized in designing and manufacturing rail inspection systems.

We are currently expanding our NDT team and require the services of an experienced Ultrasonic NDT Technician to meet the growing demand for our products and services in the rail industries (FIFO from Perth to Port Hedland & Pilbara Region).

You will be part of a friendly, helpful, professional, multi-disciplined team in a well-respected, dynamic small company and bring with you a sound knowledge and ability in your field.

Your primary duties as a NDT Technician will include:

  • Carry out Ultrasonic Testing as required.
  • Carry out Magnetic Particle Non-Destructive Testing as required.
  • Create, control, monitor and review NDT Inspection reports.
  • Be responsible for NDT equipment.
  • Carry out equipment check, light maintenance as required.
  • Assist in testing and calibration of NDT equipment.
  • Documentation control and implementation of NDT procedures.

Essential requirements:

  • ISO 9712 Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing and Magnetic Particle (mandatory).
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Good communications and organization skills.
  • Computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and/or independently.
  • Good customer relationship skills.
  • Availability to travel (FIFO position).
  • Current valid Australian driver's license (MR).
  • Commitment to safety, best practices and quality.

Desirable requirements, experience in any of the following will be viewed favorably:

  • Prior experience with NDT for the railway industry/environment.
  • Working at Heights, Confined Space and White Card tickets.
  • BHP inductee (preferred but not essential).
