Motor Mechanic – Full-Time

Salary: $78,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation

Are you a qualified Motor Mechanic looking for a stable, long-term opportunity? We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our busy workshop in Taperoo, South Australia. About the Role

As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of servicing, repairs, and diagnostic work to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and performing at their best. You'll bring strong technical knowledge, pride in your workmanship, and a commitment to delivering quality service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues across a wide range of vehicles
  • Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and roadworthiness checks
  • Repair and replace components such as brakes, transmissions, steering, suspension, and engines
  • Tune engines, adjust systems, and ensure compliance with emission and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Communicate clearly with customers on required work, costs, and timelines
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and maintain workshop equipment

What We're Looking For

  • Certificate III in Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent recognised qualification)
  • Completion of apprenticeship followed by a minimum of 3-5 years practical hands-on experience in motor mechanics
  • Current driver's licence
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to read technical manuals and use diagnostic equipment
  • Have a clear understanding of maintaining a full range of ICE including Diesel engines in mid sized vehicles at commercial level.
  • Knowledge of EVs and practical expertise in diagnostics and repairs of same.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
