An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in Mitchell.

Northside Euros is a trusted name in Canberra's automotive scene, specialising in the servicing, repair, diagnostics, and performance tuning of late-model Volkswagen Group vehicles, including Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, and Porsche.

Description of the Position:

  • Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and mechanical repairs on European vehicles, with a focus on VW, Audi, Skoda, and Porsche models
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and software
  • Perform repairs and replacements on engine systems, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and air conditioning systems ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications
  • Conduct performance upgrades and tuning, including suspension modifications, engine enhancements, and brake system upgrades for improved vehicle handling and output
  • Undertake dismantling, inspection, and reassembly of major mechanical components as part of repair or upgrade processes
  • Complete maintenance tasks such as oil and filter changes, fluid checks, and emission compliance procedures
  • Test and verify mechanical repairs and tuning outcomes through road testing and diagnostic recalibration
  • Record all work carried out using workshop software, ensuring traceability and quality control
  • Communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding repair updates, technical issues, and service recommendations
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment by adhering to workplace safety, quality standards and procedures

Skills and Experience Required for the position

  • Qualified Motor Mechanic (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on Motor Mechanic experience
  • Experience with European vehicles (Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, and Porsche is desirable, but not essential).
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid Australian driver's licence.
  • Air conditioning and/or roadworthy certification desirable, but not essential.
