About The Role

Based on site at the Nauru Regional Processing Centre, you'll oversee daily operations. You'll supervise Security Officers to ensure transferees are safely processed, relocated, and accommodated in a safe, secure and timely manner.

Key Details

  • Departures are from Brisbane on a Wednesday
  • Flights to/from Nauru are provided by MTC
  • You'll need to arrange your own travel to Brisbane for fly-out days
  • The position operates on a 6-weeks-on, 3-weeks-off roster, 12-hour shifts.
  • Accommodation is private, camp-style room with ensuite, TV, bar fridge, and internet
  • Basic meals are provided. Alternatively, a kitchen is available for self-catering.
In your new role, you will:
  • Build and maintain a productive working relationship with team members, transferees and stakeholders
  • Assist and facilitate with the intake, induction and discharge of transferees from the Centre
  • Ensure daily headcounts/musters/checks are conducted and correct
  • Report incidents in line with reporting guidelines
  • Ensure the safe and humane processing of transferees within our care, through collaboration with other departments
  • Maintain accurate and correct information in various forms and reports in a timely manner
To be successful, you will:
  • Have a Certificate Level II in Security Operations or equivalent
  • Possess a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Immigration Detention or correctional environments
  • Hold the highest standard of social responsibility, personal honesty and integrity
  • Hold or willing to obtain and Working With Children Certification and First Aid/ CPR Certificate
  • Ability to undertake and pass preemployment checks such at Australian Federal Police Check, full physical and health assessment
  • Provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 (double vaccinated)
