About the role

The Strategic Budget Analyst, Schools & Preschools plays a key role in leading the design and implementation of a revised corporate reporting function, ensuring evaluations of monthly financial impacts for schools and preschools are incorporated into the department's consolidated reporting, both internally and with the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF).

The Analyst is responsible for leading and guiding the end-to-end design, delivery and review of the budgeting training programs and materials for school and preschools leaders and finance support staff across the state.

With a focus on continuous improvement, the position ensures accurate financial management, strengthens compliance, and builds staff capability through responsive advisory support.

Qualifications

Essential: Nil

Desirable: A tertiary qualification in accountancy, business, or commerce or equivalent experience.

Special conditions

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.

The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration

ASO8 $121, ,679 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
