About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred support to people with psychosocial disabilities, dual diagnosis, and complex needs. You will empower participants to achieve their goals, enhance independence, and participate fully in their community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support in line with individual NDIS plans.
- Support participants with daily living, personal care, household tasks, community access, and skill-building.
- Apply trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and strengths-based practices.
- Respect and promote participant rights, dignity, and cultural diversity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, CALD communities, and LGBTQIA+ participants.
- Monitor, document, and report on participant progress, incidents, risks, and safeguarding concerns in line with NQSC requirements.
- Support the health, wellbeing, and safety of participants, including positive behaviour support strategies when required.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and allied health professionals.
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical practice at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and reflective practice to meet NQSC competency standards.
Essential Criteria
- Certificate III/IV in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health, or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability, dual diagnosis, or complex support needs.
- Knowledge of NDIS Code of Conduct and NQSC Practice Standards.
- Understanding of duty of care, dignity of risk, human rights, and mandatory reporting obligations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to person-centred care.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
Desirable
- Training in Mental Health First Aid, Trauma-Informed Care, or Positive Behaviour Support.
- Experience supporting participants with restrictive practices under NQSC compliance.
