About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Casual Chef to join our team at the Murrumbidgee Country Club in Kambah, ACT. As a Casual Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of delicious meals for our members and guests in a casual, welcoming environment.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and cooking a range of dishes from our menu, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, following all health and safety protocols
- Collaborating with the wider culinary team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our customers
- Being adaptable and responsive to changing customer needs and preferences
What we're looking for
- Formal chef training and qualifications (minimal Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery), with at least 2 years of experience in a similar casual dining environment
- A passion for creating delicious, high-quality meals and a commitment to maintaining excellent food standards
- Strong time management and multitasking skills to excel in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the wider culinary team
- A flexible and adaptable approach to accommodate changing customer demands
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
- Ability to work during the day through the week with some night time function work. Approximately 20 hours available per week
- Multi skilled to run the entire kitchen operation including front of house when required. Barista training is desirable but not required
- Ability to work independently or under direction
