STRUCTURAL ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee structural and civil engineering design, modeling, and documentation for major infrastructure projects, including
    bridges, tunnels, and transport systems
    .
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables and seamless integration across disciplines.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 50+ engineers,
    fostering a high-performance and innovation-driven culture.
  • Optimize resource allocation, workload distribution, and staff development initiatives.
  • Drive knowledge-sharing programs and technical training to enhance team expertise and industry leadership.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and risk strategies.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and on-time,on-budget project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Act as the primary client liaison, managing expectations and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to define and achieve strategic departmental goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities, lead proposal development, and contribute to business growth.
  • Manage contracts, negotiations, and overall project profitability.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic growth and market positioning.
  • Drive the adoption of BIM, digital tools, and new engineering technologies.
  • Implement process improvements for efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field would be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of 12 years experience in structural or civil engineering, with strong focus on documentation and design.
  • At least 8 years experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams in
    engineering and construction projects.
  • Proven ability in overseeing large, complex projects involving both structural and civil engineering disciplines.
  • Expertise in complex, large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., bridges, tunnels, transportation systems).
  • Experience in delivering projects in
    regulated environments (e.g., Australian, UK, EU).
  • Structural Engineering: Robot, STAAD. Pro, ETABS,SAP2000, Revit, Tekla, AutoCAD, or
  • Civil Engineering: Civil 3D, 12D, AutoCAD.
  • BIM Platforms: Navisworks, BIM 360, Revizto, Trimble Connect.
  • Excellent communication skill in English

Other Requirements:

1.Technical Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of international structural and civil design codes and standards
    (Eurocodes, AISC, BS, ACI, ASCE, AS).
  • Expertise in engineering principles, construction practices, and quality assurance.

2 Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Leadership experience managing teams of
    20+ engineers across multiple projects.
  • Proven ability to mentor senior engineers and foster career development.
  • Strong resource management skills, including budget, scheduling, and resource allocation.

3.Project Management

  • Extensive project management experience in structural and civil engineering.
  • Proficiency in developing project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring that they stay on track and meet objectives.

4.Client Relationship Management:

  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, senior management, and external parties.
  • Ability to ensure client satisfaction, leading to repeat business and long-term partnerships.

5.Business Development

  • Experience in business development, including preparing proposals, managing contracts, and securing new projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial goals such as profitability, resource allocation, and cost control.
