As a Hub Practitioner, you'll provide culturally safe and effective responses to those impacted by family violence and needing extra support. Join a respected community-controlled organisation and work directly in the Orange Door network, delivering early support, assessments, and culturally grounded practice.

About the Role

The Hub Practitioner is a key role within The Orange Door, providing intake, screening, assessment, and short-term response to referrals involving family violence or child and family vulnerability. You'll also offer secondary consultations and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure holistic, culturally responsive services for Aboriginal clients. This is a co-located position with strong focus on building cultural safety and integrated practice.

About You

  • You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or willingness to work toward one.
  • Experience in case management, child and family services, or family violence response.
  • Strong understanding of culturally safe, trauma-informed approaches in Aboriginal contexts.
  • Knowledge of family violence dynamics, child wellbeing, and the legal system's role in safeguarding families.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Competitive pay and conditions based on the SCHADS Award – Level 4 or 5 Pay Point 1-4 based on experience and qualifications.
