About the Position

We are seeking a Site Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience in structural and civil inspections across residential and commercial projects. This role is primarily site-based and mobile, reporting directly to the Principal Engineers. The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting structural and civil inspections, documenting findings, and preparing reports to support our engineering and design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber structures for compliance with approved structural drawings and standards.
  • Carry out preliminary structural appraisal inspections of existing buildings and structures to document and assess existing conditions to aid in design for alterations and additions.
  • Undertake stormwater and civil inspections, including checks on installed drainage systems and driveway gradients against our approved designs.
  • Conduct dilapidation inspections, including photographing and documenting pre-existing conditions, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Prepare accurate inspection and non-compliance reports, highlighting defects and deviations from approved plans.
  • Coordinate inspection schedules and communicate clearly with builders, contractors, and clients.
  • Work independently in a field-based role while maintaining consistent communication with the office.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of local experience in structural inspections of concrete, steel, and timber structures, primarily in the residential construction sector.
  • Sound knowledge of the NCC and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Strong ability to interpret structural, civil and stormwater draining plans.
  • Comprehensive understanding of common residential and commercial construction practices.
  • Punctual, reliable, and well-presented, with a professional attitude on-site and with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and professionalism in representing the company on-site.
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile role with minimal supervision.
  • Membership with Engineers Australia.
  • Valid White Card and NSW Driver's Licence.
  • Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship.
