Senior Manager, Sales Strategy and Enablement Deposits

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

This is a key position overseeing the delivery, implementation & engagement of tactical and strategic growth initiatives and the role is pivotal to the top line sales growth of the bank within required risk parameters and without negative impact on culture. This will require strong team work with the broader Deposits team and ability to win trust and influence with key leaders across the broader Country Banking business. Key responsibilities and accountabilities will include but not be limited to:

Sales Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to grow deposit volumes, improve client engagement, and optimise channel performance.
  • Lead annual sales planning, including segmentation, target setting, and resource allocation.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and internal performance to inform strategic decisions.

Sales Enablement:

  • Design and deliver enablement programs that build capability across relationship managers and sales teams.
  • Equip frontline teams with tools, content, and training to support effective deposit conversations and solutioning.
  • Drive adoption of CRM and sales platforms to improve pipeline management and forecasting accuracy.

Performance Management:

  • Establish and maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor sales effectiveness and drive accountability.
  • Partner with Finance, Analytics, and Product teams to deliver actionable insights and performance reporting.
  • Lead initiatives to improve conversion rates, client retention, and deposit growth.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Risk, and Operations to ensure alignment across the sales lifecycle.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on deposit sales performance and growth opportunities.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and client-centricity.

Support key projects as SME and change lead where required

Qualifications*:

Essential

  • University graduate in finance, accounting, business, economics, law or other banking related discipline

Desirable

  • Relevant Post Grad Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Experience*:
  • Minimum 15 years working experience within the banking industry, preferably across multiple revenue line functions
  • Minimum 3-5 years in senior management capacity, working in a global matrix business, leading a team in a complex environment with digital experience

Knowledge*:

  • Professional knowledge at an expert level of Deposits business
  • Strong commercial, business and strategic acumen.
  • Sound understanding of Risk Management Frameworks, techniques, practices etc.
  • Understanding of regulatory/compliance issues across both Australia and New Zealand as well as Europe.
  • Understanding the of the Bank's products for all areas of Region Australia New Zealand. Skills*:
