Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Xenith Consulting Full time

JORC Competent Person | Client-Facing Consulting Role

Own the model. Sign the statement. Advise the client.

Xenith is a leading, employee-owned technical consulting firm supporting the mining and resources sector across the full asset lifecycle. With a strong and growing East Coast client base, we are seeking a Principal Resource Geologist – Metals to strengthen our senior technical capability and provide trusted, signatory-level expertise to our clients.

This role replaces a senior position on the Australia East Coast and is critical to maintaining and expanding our reputation for technical excellence, credibility and independence in resource estimation and evaluation.

The Opportunity

Based in Sydney, Brisbane or the Hunter Valley, this is a senior consulting role suited to an experienced resource geologist who is comfortable operating at Principal / Senior level.

You will:

· Act as a JORC Competent Person, responsible for review, governance and sign-off

· Lead and review resource estimation and geological modelling work across metalliferous projects

· Provide direct technical advice to clients, often at senior technical and executive level

· Mentor and technically guide less experienced geologists

· Contribute to business development through technical credibility and client trust

This is a hands-on role — not a people-only or academic position. You will remain close to the work, the models and the clients.

Key Responsibilities

· Technical Leadership & JORC Accountability

· Act as JORC Competent Person for resource estimates and public reporting

· Lead, review and approve geological interpretations, domaining and block models

· Ensure technical rigour, defensibility and compliance across all resource work

· Provide independent technical review and due diligence support

· Geological Modelling & Software Expertise

· Advanced capability in Micromine and/or Datamine (highly desired)

· Strong experience in geological modelling, domaining, estimation and validation

· Ability to review and interrogate models built in other major platforms (Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac, etc.)

· Client Advisory & Consulting

· Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients across precious and base metals

· Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

· Support studies, due diligence, project evaluations and investment decisions

· Mentoring & Team Development

· Provide technical mentorship to geologists across the East Coast

· Lift capability, standards and confidence within the team

· Contribute to internal technical frameworks, templates and best practice

About You

You are a credible, respected resource geologist who values technical integrity and professional independence.

You will bring:

· Strong metalliferous mining experience (precious and/or base metals)

· Confidence signing off public reports and standing behind your work

· Comfort operating in a client-facing consulting environment

· A pragmatic, commercially aware mindset — without compromising technical standards

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor of Science (Geology or equivalent)

· Eligibility for, or current status as, JORC Competent Person

· Typically, 10–20+ years' industry experience, including consulting

· Demonstrated experience in JORC-compliant resource estimation and reporting

· Advanced capability in Micromine and/or Datamine (strongly preferred)

· Strong understanding of geostatistics and estimation methodologies

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Eligibility for membership with AusIMM

Why Xenith

· Employee-owned business with long-term stability

· High-trust, low-ego consulting culture

· Technically strong peer group and leadership

· Flexible working arrangements and location options

· Competitive remuneration aligned to seniority and accountability
