The National School of Arts and Sciences is one of two national schools in the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business. About the role

As a Lecturer in Psychology, you will deliver courses and contribute to research in the discipline. We are seeking an experienced academic who can make a strong contribution to teaching, research, and professional development within the School of Arts & Sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching through lectures, tutorials, practical classes, workshops, and clinical sessions across Psychology programs.
  • Develop and coordinate subject material, including preparation of course content and assessment tasks.
  • Supervise honours and postgraduate students.
  • Conduct research and contribute to the scholarly output of the school, while engaging in relevant professional activities.
  • Provide academic support through student consultation, marking, and feedback, and participate in departmental meetings and committees.
  • Undertake administrative duties related to teaching and comply with institutional policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
Qualifications, skills & experience
  • PhD in Psychology (or equivalent accreditation and standing).
  • Proven ability to design, coordinate, and deliver high-quality teaching across psychosocial determinants of health, developmental psychology for educators and health practitioners, contemporary family issues, and community mental health, informed by contemporary developments in psychology education.
  • APAC accreditation and experience as a registered psychologist (desirable).
  • Training in critical psychology or behavioural sciences is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated research track record or potential in psychology, relative to career stage.
  • Capacity to supervise student research in Psychology effectively.
