About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Trainer and Assessor – Cookery and Hospitality to join our growing team. The successful candidate will deliver and assess Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management and Certificate III, Certificate IV, and Diploma of Hospitality Management, supporting students to meet current industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate engaging and effective training sessions for Commercial Cookery and Hospitality qualifications (Cert III, Cert IV, Diploma)
• Deliver both theory and hands-on practical classes based on national training package requirements
• Develop and adapt lesson plans, training materials, and assessment tools
• Assess student performance through written work, observations, and practical tasks
• Offer guidance, feedback, and academic support to help students succeed
• Ensure all delivery and assessments align with current RTO and ASQA standards
• Participate in validation and review of assessment practices with the training team
• Keep accurate and timely records of student participation, progress, and results
• Assist in improving course content and training approaches based on feedback and compliance needs
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices to ensure course relevance
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122) or equivalent (mandatory).
• Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (mandatory).
• Minimum 2 years' recent and relevant industry experience in cookery or hospitality.
• Experience delivering training and assessment in an RTO setting (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of training packages, compliance, and assessment requirements.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills.
• Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Full-time work rights in Australia (citizenship, permanent residency, or relevant visa).
