The Opportunity
The Meter Reader is responsible for accurately reading water and gas meters throughout the year in Dalby, Chinchilla, Tara, Miles & Wandoan. You will receive on the job training and support from our team who take great pride in delivering quality work and great customer service.
The key responsibilities include:
(1) utilising electronic devises for example mobile telephones and tablets to read water and gas meters and log daily work summary, report incidents and receive job tasks;
(2) maintaining a very high accuracy in reading gas meters and water meters utilising both manual and automatic read systems;
(3) collecting and maintaining water and gas meter reading records;
About you
A person in this position will need to be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:
(1) Work Health & Safety General Construction White Card
(2) Current "C" Class Drivers Licence
(3) Undergo a National Criminal History Police Check
(4) Candidates:
(a) must be physically fit, it is anticipated this position will require 10-15 kilometres of walking per day;
(b) must provide own transportation (motor vehicle usage reimbursement can be claimed); and
(c) must provide own mobile telephone (usage reimbursement can be claimed).
(5) The recruitment process includes candidates completing a:
(a) pre-employment health questionnaire at time of submitting application; and
(b) Literacy and numeracy aptitude test at time of interview.
