Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our architectural practice. The role is integral to ensuring robust financial management, supporting business decision-making, and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements. The successful candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with the ability to work closely with the Managing Director and Partners and oversee a small finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver the full set of monthly management accounts.
  • Work closely with Leadership to provide accurate monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Oversee the Finance Officer to ensure efficient day-to-day financial operations.
  • Manage corporate finance requirements, including BAS returns, FBT returns, and tax preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support practice strategy and operational decisions.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and efficient financial systems.

Skills & Attributes

  • Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably within professional services.
  • Strong corporate finance knowledge and technical accounting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with Partners and colleagues across the practice.
  • Highly organised, with strong time management and prioritisation abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software and financial reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • CPA/CA qualification (or working towards) strongly preferred.
