Step into a role that keeps you on your feet and out in the community – we're hiring two full-time City Rangers for two 12-month contracts.

Key responsibilities
  • Patrol streets, car parks, and public areas to monitor parking compliance, animal control, litter, fire hazards and other community concerns relating to council by-laws

  • Educate the community on road rules, local by-laws and dog control issues

  • Respond to complaints and investigate issues like illegal parking, fire hazards, invasive weeds, dog control complaints and local by-laws

  • Perform basic admin tasks like data entry and creating standard letters

  • Participate in legal processes, including writing reports and assist with affidavits

  • Provide friendly and helpful service at the customer service counter when needed

About you
  • Good understanding of, or willingness to learn relevant legislation, such as Dog Control Act, Traffic Act (Road Rules), City of Clarence Public Places By-Law

  • Physically fit and capable of walking up to 20,000 steps per day

  • Confidence in working with animals, mainly dogs

  • Great people skills with a calm, respectful approach and able to manage difficult situations

  • Able to work independently, use good judgement plus be a strong team player and support colleagues

  • Hold a current driver's licence and are available for occasional after-hours and weekend work

What we offer you
  • Base salary between $66,218.98 and $73,292.57 will be offered (dependent on skills and experience % superannuation

  • Fixed-term – 12-month contract, full-time

  • Monthly rostered day off
