The role-Early Childhood Teacher

Lady Gowrie is seeking Early Childhood Teachers for our Bowen Road, Penna Road, Kingston, Integrated Centre (also located in South Hobart), Battery Point & Midway Point Long Day Care Services. This is your opportunity to work closely with our Education and Care Practitioners demonstrating and mentoring in pedagogy and practice and work in ratio.

  • Part time, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Long Day Care

As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will:

  • Work closely with our educators and develop programs tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Ensure compliance as a mandated reporter in accordance with the services Child Protection policy and procedures.
  • Identifying and responding to children at risk
  • Promote positive, comforting, and nurturing relationships with children.
  • Be proactive in ensuring currency in best early childhood practice.
  • Providing experiences to support children's play and learning.
  • Listening to children, including interpreting words and actions to determine a child's individual needs.
  • Using storytelling, drama, music and discussion to develop language and vocabulary.
  • Provide care for children with a focus on ensuring health, safety and wellbeing.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved)
  • A sound understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Accredited Child Protection Training
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, emergency Asthma management, and CPR (HLTAID012)
  • A current Tasmanian Registration for Working with Vulnerable People (child-related activity – childcare services)
  • A recent Police Check
