About the Role:

DEP Consulting is seeking a talented and motivated Civil Drafter to join our innovative team in Sutherland, NSW, on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Senior Design Team Lead, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality civil drawings and documentation while providing technical expertise and operational support. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about applying creativity and innovation to meet future project requirements. Your contributions will ensure exceptional outcomes for our clients, supporting diverse projects with precision and professionalism.

We'll Look to You For:

• Preparing detailed civil design plans, environmental reports, and supporting documentation in line with project specifications and industry standards.
• Applying a variety of standard methodologies and innovative techniques to solve complex problems effectively.
• Assisting senior staff in analysing technical data and providing actionable insights to drive project success.
• Collaborating on team projects, contributing ideas, and supporting the achievement of project milestones.
• Undertaking Geographical Information System (GIS) spatial mapping, while maintaining and updating system data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance team efficiency.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure seamless communication and project delivery.

About You:

• A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a relevant discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in civil drafting or an engineering-related role (experience in the electricity distribution industry is a strong advantage).
• Proficiency in 12D Design (desired) and AutoCAD software, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of theoretical concepts and the ability to apply them to practical, real-world tasks.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and investigative skills to address routine and complex challenges.
• Ability to manage day-to-day tasks efficiently, with strong organisational and time management skills to meet project deadlines and KPIs.
• A proactive and creative approach, with a desire to learn, innovate, and contribute to the team's success.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of GIS systems and their application in civil design is highly desirable.
