About the role
As a Diversional Therapist you will play an integral role in Brodribb's person-centred approach which ensures enhancement of the psychological, social, emotional, and physical well-being of our residents.
You will play a key role in delivering tailored programs that promote physical and social wellbeing for our residents.
There are permanent and casual positions available. A candidate with a qualification in dementia desirable, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and developing personalised leisure activities that reflect residents' preferences and needs.
- Ensure that all residents can be part of an activity program of interest and that they can achieve the desired outcomes.
- Providing guidance to residents and their families, ensuring the best possible support for their lifestyle choices.
- Ensuring a varied and inclusive program that accommodates all levels of ability and encourages participation.
- Promoting social and physical engagement, helping residents maintain optimal function and independence.
- Implement social calendars and wellbeing programs
About you:
- A relevant qualification (Certificate III or IV) or experience in recreational services.
- Experience in a Diversional Therapy role, particularly within aged care.
- A sound understanding of the needs and preferences of elderly residents, including cognitive decline and physical disabilities.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
