Job Description:

Bison Constructions is seeking a motivated and experienced Site Supervisor to join our growing team across Southern Tasmania. This role is essential in overseeing day-to-day operations on our construction sites, ensuring that projects are delivered according to project timelines and to the highest quality standards. The Site Supervisor will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate trades, deliveries, and equipment, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onsite Supervision: Manage and supervise construction activities to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the project plan. Ensure the site is organised and complies with all safety regulations.
  • Daily Toolbox Meetings: Conduct daily meetings with the team to discuss safety protocols, job tasks, and to plan ahead.
  • Coordination of Trades: Schedule and coordinate trades based on the Gantt chart and project timeline. Ensure trades are following plans, construction codes and Bison site rules/protocols.
  • Site Setup & Amenities: Organise setups and maintenance of site office, lunchroom, amenities and signage.
  • Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety across the site. Ensure the site is secure and complies with all OHS regulations. Co-ordinate with sub-contractors to ensure inductions are completed, SWMs are provided and up-to-date and correct licensing copies are on file.
  • Defect Walks: Regularly inspect work done to identify defects or quality issues and ensure these are rectified and closed out promptly.
  • Reporting: Daily reporting to the Project Manager, including site diary entries and updates on the progress of construction.
  • First Aid: Act as the first responder in case of any site-related injuries, and ensure compliance with first aid and emergency procedures including incident reporting to relevant parties.
  • Assistance to PM: Support the Project Manager with various project-related administrative tasks (laptop provided).
  • Software skills: Daily use of project management software such as Procore for effective and efficient communication with trades, the client and the project management team.

Key Skills & Qualification Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 3–5 years of experience within the construction industry and experience in a supervisory role.
  • Licensing: White Card, First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain), Forklift, EWP, Telescopic Handler, Basic Rigging, Working at Heights Qualifications - will strengthen your application.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Personal Skills:
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with subcontractors, clients, and the internal team.
  • Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and keep the project on track.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills; initiative, attention to detail, safety and strong work ethic as well as motivation, of yourself and your team.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying issues and providing practical solutions to assist your project manager and reduce hold-ups.
