Senior Aboriginal Workforce Consultant

This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment for 12 months, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Eligibility to Apply:
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

Other Conditions:
WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment on an applicant's integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

Position Profile:
The Senior Aboriginal Workforce Consultant :

• Provides leadership and supports to the development, implementation and evaluation of WACHS-wide Aboriginal workforce initiatives that demonstrate and support the organisation's commitment to attract, recruit, grow, develop and retain our Aboriginal workforce in order to improve the health outcomes of Aboriginal people.
• Works with the regions, the Country Health Aboriginal Workforce Committee (CHAWC) and other stakeholders across WACHS and externally to ensure that the organisation's various workforce commitments related to Aboriginal Workforce matters are successfully implemented.
• Ensures that WACHS strategy, direction, policies and programs are designed and implemented with attraction, engagement, development and retention of our Aboriginal workforce in mind.

The Workforce Strategy and Organisational Development Directorate takes a leadership role across the WA Country Health Service to drive and deliver strategic value through the development of People, Capability and Culture strategies that enable, support, and promote the development and enhancement of a capable and sustainable health care workforce.
