About the Role

We are currently seeking a Data-Focused Quality Engineer to join our team for a critical project involving complex data integrations and large-scale reconciliations across enterprise environments. In this role, you will take ownership of testing complex data flows, validating transformation logic, and ensuring complete accuracy through detailed reconciliation between source and target systems. You'll work extensively with SQL and ETL processes, applying advanced query skills to verify backend data, track anomalies, and troubleshoot integration issues.

This position requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and strong communication skills, as you'll regularly engage with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project leads to ensure data quality across the entire delivery lifecycle.

Please note: Due to the nature of this work, you must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain security clearance.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in data-centric testing, with a strong focus on SQL (including complex joins, aggregations, and stored procedures) for backend validation.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL testing, including verification of transformation rules, data mappings, and data quality.
  • Demonstrated experience performing large-scale data reconciliations across multiple systems, ensuring data completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Strong background in System, Integration, and End-to-End Testing, particularly for data-heavy applications and platforms.
  • Competence in API testing using tools such as Postman, including payload validation and error condition testing.
  • Ability to critically analyse functional and non-functional requirements to derive effective and risk-based test scenarios.
  • Experience in Agile or hybrid delivery models, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Exposure to defect management tools such as JIRA, and experience with structured test management processes.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to one or more major SaaS platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Workday, MS D365, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, Dayforce, ADP Workforce Now).
  • Familiarity with test automation tools or frameworks and an understanding of automation principles.
  • ISTQB Foundation/Advanced certification and/or Certified Agile Tester accreditation.
