We are seeking a motivated
Estimator
to join our Brookvale-based team. This role offers a rare opportunity for a
2nd, 3rd, or final-year Construction Project Management student
to gain hands-on experience in estimating and tender preparation within a supportive, fast-paced environment.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will work directly with our senior estimators and project managers to gain
end-to-end exposure
to the estimating process, from reviewing tender documents to preparing detailed cost submissions. You will be involved in reading and interpreting plans, completing quantity take-offs, sourcing supplier quotes, preparing accurate cost estimates, and maintaining pricing databases.
We understand the demands of university study and offer
flexibility to structure your hours around your timetable
. This position is
part-time (3 to 4 days per week)
with the potential to transition to full-time upon graduation.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
● Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scope documents
● Complete accurate quantity take-offs for labour, materials, and equipment
● Source and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes
● Prepare detailed cost estimates for concreting projects under guidance from senior estimators
● Maintain and update estimating templates, cost databases, and project files
● Ensure estimates are completed within required timeframes and meet company accuracy standards
Tender Support
● Assist in preparing and compiling tender submissions
● Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing and confirm specifications
● Review tender requirements to ensure compliance with client documentation
Cost Tracking and Reporting
● Maintain accurate records of pricing, quotes, and tender outcomes
● Support cost analysis and feedback to improve future estimates
What We're Looking For
● Currently enrolled in a Construction Project Management degree (2nd year or above preferred)
● Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
● Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel, email, and project documentation
● Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
● Excellent communication skills and a professional approach
● Full Australian working rights and own transport
