About Orange Sky
At Orange Sky, we're on a mission to positively connect communities through free laundry, showers, and genuine conversation. Behind the scenes, our technology keeps that mission moving — and we need someone who can help us run smarter, safer, and with fewer "tech headaches."
If you're someone who lights up when systems run smoothly, takes pride in solving problems fast, and thrives on helping others feel confident with technology, we want to hear from you.
The Role
This newly created role is your chance to step into a pivotal systems-focused position at one of Australia's most innovative charities.
Reporting to the Data, Insights & Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for improving how our organisation uses technology, from streamlining tools and managing system access, to resolving Level 1 IT issues and supporting system integrations.
You'll be the calm, friendly face that keeps things moving when problems arise. But even more importantly, you'll help us prevent problems from happening in the first place.
This isn't just help desk support, it's your opportunity to lead improvements, lift digital confidence, and embed smarter processes across the organisation.
In a nutshell, you will:
- Identify and implement workflow and systems improvements (we love a better way)
- Build out and maintain documentation: SOPs, access maps, system diagrams
- Support integrations between core systems (Salesforce, Meta, Airtable, Rosterfy, etc.)
- Contribute to long-term IT planning, system upgrades, and digital uplift
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and help ensure strong digital hygiene
- Manage user onboarding, device setup, access requests, and license renewals
- Be the first point of contact for IT support and troubleshooting across the org
- Oversee user access, security settings, and platform permissions in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
- Coordinate with our external IT partner (Rivernet) and vendors to escalate and resolve issues
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Thrive on problem-solving, prioritising effectively, and getting things done
- Know your way around both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
- Are organised and detail-oriented — especially when it comes to tech and access
- Communicate clearly and can explain technical things without the jargon
- Have experience in a Level 1 support, systems coordination, or platform admin role
- Are energised by helping others and making tools simpler, smoother, and more secure
- Have strong documentation habits and a process improvement mindset
- Understand (or are learning) data privacy, cyber safety, and governance principles
- Are excited by the chance to work across IT, data, and system improvement projects
- Want to join a mission-driven team where your work directly supports impact
Benefits
At Orange Sky, we want every person to be "Better for Being Orange". That is every one of our volunteers, friends, and supporters, all while working together towards delivering our mission of "Positively Connecting Communities". You not only get to work with an outstanding bunch of high-performing people, but you're supported to continue your own personal growth and development in an inclusive and flexible environment, with benefits including:
- Attractive and fair remuneration package based on industry benchmarking;
- Attractive salary packaging options - up to $15,900 tax free per year;
- Flexible approach to work;
- Development through the Orange Sky My Career Pathway
- Professional development fund (both formal and informal learning opportunities);
- Recognition program that includes a paid-out reward scheme and gifted leave;
- Additional leave including Orange Sky public holiday and gifted leave for high performance;
- Wellness initiatives and an Employee Assistance Program;
- Fitness Passport memberships on offer for you and your family to help support a healthy lifestyle;
- Dog friendly offices - bring your (furry) best mate with you to work.
We are committed to facilitating a barrier-free recruitment process and work environment. If you require any accommodations, we welcome you to let us know so we can work with you to participate fully in our recruitment experience.
