We are currently seeking a Grounds & Facilities Officer to join us in a Full Time opportunity at Longreach Tourist Park.

Longreach Tourist Park is a key accommodation provider within Longreach, the home of Qantas Founder's Museum, Stockman's Hall of Fame, Outback Pioneers and Outback Aussie Tours, The Spirit of the Outback, Longreach Powerhouse and Historical Museum and the natural attractions of the Thomson River, Lochern National Park and Iningai Nature Reserve. Longreach Tourist Park is a true outback experience, full of colourful characters promoting Longreach and the Queensland Outback. Longreach Tourist Park is located less than 2km from the centre of town and Longreach Historical Railway Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be responsible for the overall upkeep and improvement of our grounds and gardens, as well as general maintenance of our park.

You must enjoy working around people and be able to communicate easily and confidently. You will take pride in your appearance, be self-motivated, have an eye for detail, a passion for maintenance, grounds and gardens, and a willingness to learn and apply learnt knowledge.

The position will provide you with variety and a rewarding role.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience in grounds and property maintenance in a hospitality environment, however this is not essential as training will be provided to the right person.
  • The successful applicant will require a Drivers Licence.
  • You will be competent in the use of items such as:
  • Ride on mowers.
  • Hedge trimmers.
  • Whipper snippers
  • Chainsaws
  • High powered hand tools.
  • Assist with other minor maintenance items across our park and accommodation on direction

The rate of pay for this role is based on the Hospitality General Award.
