Psychologically‑Informed Paralegal

The short:

Help a small, values‑driven team run one significant parenting matter with a trauma‑informed, attachment‑aware lens, and assist on the property component. You'll run a tight file, turning messy human narratives into clean, court‑ready material—without big‑firm noise.

What you'll do (outcomes, not busywork)
  • Evidence architecture. Build a behavioural chronology that integrates messages/emails, call logs, daycare/medical notes, affidavits, and transcript extracts—link every statement to source.
  • Psych‑aware drafting. Prepare affidavits, outlines, and tender bundles that capture child presentations (affect, sleep, separation response).
  • Expert‑facing prep. Draft precise question sets for the family report writer; assemble collateral packs (school/GP/therapy/childcare) .
  • Court‑ready documents. Initiating/response material, subpoenas, indices, exhibits, paginated court books, and clean, consistent formatting for FCFCOA.
  • Process hygiene. Build checklists, deadline maps, and minute‑by‑minute hearing run‑sheets; keep disclosure and subpoena returns tight and searchable.
  • Calm liaison. Professional, low‑reactivity comms with lawyers' offices, chambers, clinics, daycare, and the Court.
About you
  • Paralegal 3–10+ years (family‑law litigation highly preferred); you know FCFCOA etiquette, eFiling, subpoenas, and disclosure inside‑out. You could run a matter yourself.
  • Writer‑editor at heart. You can reduce 200 pages of noise to 8 pages of signal that survives scrutiny.
  • Psychology‑literate. Comfortable with trauma‑informed practice, attachment/transition concepts, developmentally appropriate language, and how all of that translates into admissible, careful drafting.
  • Systems thinker. You love to transform mess into clean document stacks, consistent citations, and reproducible workflows.

  2. Paid work sample (1–2 hrs). We'll provide a short pack (redacted); you'll draft a 1‑page behavioural excerpt and a 6–8 question set for an expert—neutral language, source‑linked.
