Southern Sun Pathology is dedicated to the accurate and timely diagnosis of skin cancer. Our pathology laboratory is the largest dedicated Dermatopathology practice in Australia, based on the North Shore of Sydney.
With dedicated Pathologists who offer exceptional skills and experience in the area of diagnostic skin pathology, our goal is to be Australia's number one choice for primary care diagnosis of skin cancer. As part of the SunDoctors group, with 29 integrated skin cancer clinics covering NSW, QLD, SA, and VIC, our Pathology laboratory offers a diagnostic service to more than 60 clinics throughout Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Register and process incoming specimens with accuracy and efficiency
- Provide professional and friendly service to couriers and internal teams
- Check and verify all specimen information before processing
- Prioritise and manage workloads following established procedures
- Liaise with clinics to clarify missing or incomplete request details
- Respond to enquiries regarding results, sample requirements, and general information
About You
- Certificate or Diploma in Applied Science (Medical Laboratory), Laboratory Technology, or equivalent qualification (AIMS accredited preferred)
- Experience in a diagnostic pathology laboratory, with histology exposure highly regarded
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail, organisation, and time management
- A proactive attitude and commitment to maintaining high laboratory standards
