We're looking for a Head Barista who is both a skilled technician and an inspiring leader at Hannah St Hotel. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping a coffee program that reflects Melbourne's world-class café culture, featuring Square One Coffee Roasters, a Mulberry Group brand.

You'll be a hands-on leader, helping to guide a dynamic team and ensuring every detail—from service to presentation—reflects our commitment to quality and innovation. With a passion for hospitality and a flair for creating memorable moments, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences with a strong focus on guest experience, service excellence, and team culture.

About the Venue
The Mulberry Group will operate five distinct venues under one roof, each designed to reflect Melbourne's layered food culture while adding something new to the mix. From morning coffee runs to late-night soundtracks, these venues will be seamlessly woven into the rhythm of the hotel and the city beyond.

About you:

• Leading, training, and inspiring the barista team to deliver consistently excellent coffee service.
• Showcasing Square One Coffee Roasters through a world-class offering that highlights quality, seasonality, and sustainability.
• Managing day-to-day café and coffee service operations, including ordering, stock control, and maintenance.
• Collaborating with senior leadership, including The Mulberry Group and TFE Hotels, to integrate coffee service seamlessly across all aspects of the hotel.

• Driving innovation, consistency, and efficiency in both guest experience and operational practices.

• Extensive experience as a senior barista in Melbourne's specialty coffee scene.

• A deep understanding of coffee quality, preparation, and guest-focused service.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
• Strong operational skills, including supplier relationships and cost management.
• A passion for hospitality and for sharing coffee knowledge with both staff and guests.

• Tech-savvy with POS systems and basic financial reporting.
