St Mary & St Mina's Coptic Orthodox College is an independent co-educational K–12 Christian school committed to providing high-quality education grounded in the values and teachings of the Coptic Orthodox faith. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated HSIE Teacher with the ability to teach Stage 6 Economics and/or Stage 6 Legal Studies. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, effective classroom practice, and a commitment to fostering excellence in student learning.


About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Model a strong commitment to the Christian ethos and Coptic Orthodox values of the College.
  • Teach HSIE subjects with a focus on Stage 6 Economics and/or Stage 6 Legal Studies.
  • Deliver engaging, well-planned lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the HSIE team to develop programs, assessments, and resources.
  • Use data-informed practices to track and enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, contributing to a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Key Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following criteria in a written response (maximum two pages):

  • Proven experience teaching Stage 6 Economics and/or Stage 6 Legal Studies, with demonstrated student success.
  • Strong knowledge of NESA syllabuses, curriculum design, and assessment practices within HSIE subjects.
  • Confidence in understanding and applying the NESA ACE Manual and its requirements.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute positively to a team environment.
  • Commitment to professional learning, reflective practice, and continual improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an engaging, supportive, and well-managed learning environment.
  • Capacity to uphold and promote the Christian ethos and Coptic Orthodox values of the College.

Qualifications
  • A recognised teaching qualification and current NESA accreditation.
  • Minimum Proficient level NESA accreditation is required.
  • Current and valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
