About the Role
Our Coldridge Vineyard in South Australia, approximately a 10-minute drive from Loxton, has an entry level opportunity for a 'hands on' Irrigation Officer who is interested in pursuing a career in irrigation.
Reporting to the Vineyard Manager, the Irrigation Officer will be required to perform the following duties:
- Maintenance of automated irrigation system;
- Apply fertigation as per seasonal program;
- Assist in irrigation scheduling and soil moisture monitoring;
- Maintenance of written and electronic records;
- Other general irrigation and vineyard hand duties as required.
We are looking for
Experience: Experience in a vineyard, agricultural or horticultural setting will be highly advantageous. Basic to intermediate understanding of computers and software in order to effectively maintain automated systems and electronic records.
Technical Skills: Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting, with a strong focus on safety.
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong problem-solving ability, high attention to detail, and a proactive approach to tasks
Communication & Teamwork: Aclear communicator with sound written and verbal skills, with a collaborative 'can do' attitude and a commitment to our values — working together, being innovative, responsive, and empowered. Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment is a must.
Other Requirements
- Current drivers licence (essential)
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- A 38-hours 5 day per week. Willingness to be available for the seasonal harvest period, including occasional weekends or on-call support, as reasonably scheduled.
