L'epi Bakery is a well-established artisan bakery group in Canberra, with a strong reputation for quality breads, pastries, and café offerings. We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen at our Kambah store. This is a senior position for someone who thrives on creativity, menu development, and running a high-performing kitchen.

What We're Looking For

  • Leadership & Experience: A chef with proven experience running a busy kitchen to a high standard.
  • Menu Development: Someone with strong knowledge of what works in the industry, who can design menus that balance creativity, cost, and customer demand.
  • Breakfast & Sandwich Expertise: Solid experience in breakfast service and innovative sandwich creation.
  • Commitment: We want someone who sees this as a long-term role (2+ years) and is ready to grow with us.
  • Quality Focus: Someone who can elevate our food offering while keeping it consistent, efficient, and exciting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily kitchen operations.
  • Develop, test, and roll out seasonal menus with a focus on breakfast and café-style offerings.
  • Create and refine sandwich and breakfast recipes that appeal to our diverse customer base.
  • Work closely with management to balance creativity with business objectives.

About You

  • You have at least 3–5 years of experience as a chef in a leadership or high-responsibility role.
  • You are passionate about food, particularly breakfast and café menus.
  • You understand what customers want, and you know how to adapt recipes to suit both customer tastes and business needs.
  • You are highly organised, reliable, and able to run a smooth kitchen.
