Are you a motivated and experienced Mechanical Fitter with pump alignment and flange management skills looking to join a thriving team.

Wood is recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Hotworks team at the Ampol Refinery in Brisbane, Australia.

Applicants must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for the role.

The Role

Location: Lytton Refinery, site based

With a highly skilled team, this role is to replace a team member who was sought from another project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pump alignment and flange management and inspection

  • Installation of valves, pipework and assist with fabrication

  • Preservation of rotating and static equipment

  • Demonstrated experience in pressure testing

  • Asset maintenance background

  • Experience with data assessment, ordering spares and recording (Microsoft Excel).

Skills/Qualifications

  • Must be trade qualified with proven maintenance experience in heavy industry environments

  • Knowledge of pumps, valves, vessels, pipework, PSV's etc

  • Previous Rotating experience would be advantageous

  • Hydro testing experience essential

  • Air compressors and associated ancillary equipment

  • Flange management, Hydrotesting, Valve and pipe installation including associated QA compliance

  • Previous experience with permit to work within hazardous areas

  • Willingness and ability to be part of the on call after hours roster

  • Current EWP and Rigging High Risk Work License would be advantageous

  • Current WAH and CSE accreditation advantageous

  • Ability to read and interpret Isometrics P&ID's and mechanical drawings.
