Tailor / Seamstress / Upcycler

The Opportunity:

We need a skilled tailor who is familiar with the art of repair and upcycling.

We want to host 4 back-to-back educational workshop groups on Saturday November 15th, on the Central Coast (from 11-3):

• 2 x Repair
• 2 x upcycling

*up to 20 people per session, no longer than 35 mins

**Note that there will be 20-25 mins in between sessions for a break and to get set up again.

Fabrics, textiles and sewing kits will be provided; we just need an expert on site to teach people the craft. We will work with you on the experience and make sure it is easy even for beginners

About Unwanted FC

Unwanted FC is growing, and we're looking for skilled and passionate tailors to join us for an upcoming sustainability event on the Central Coast. After this event, there may be ongoing work and chances for you to join our team.

We specialise in upcycling garments - transforming old uniforms, football kits, and unwanted materials into unique, bespoke items like tote bags, shoe bags, bucket hats and more. Every piece has a story, and we need more creative hands to help tell it.

What we're looking for:

• Experience with sewing, garment construction, or textile work
• A love for upcycling, reworking, or repairing materials
• Access to your own sewing machine
