What you'll be doing

As an Orderly/Wardsperson, you'll play a vital role in supporting patient care and hospital operations through safe and timely transport and assistance.

  • Transport patients via bed, trolley, or wheelchair across hospital departments
  • Assist with patient mobility tasks including transfers and positioning
  • Safely handle and transport equipment, specimens, and documentation
  • Support mortuary operations with dignity and professionalism
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors

  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills with patients, visitors, staff and managers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety, Manual Handling and Infection control principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and physically challenging position/workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to read and write in English.
  • Ability to use electronic devices as part of the Orderly Department's tasking system
  • Ability to complete tasks either in a team environment or unsupervised all within a measurable timeframe
