Kids Gourmet Food is a volume catering business and the National leading provider of prepared meals to the childcare industry in Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne. We are looking for a hands-on Quality Assurance Manager with a passion for Quality and Food Safety, who likes early starts - 6am Monday to Friday.

About the Role: Responsibilities

Leading the site in all areas of Food Safety & Quality, ensuring the site remains compliant with regulatory, certification/customer standards and internal policies.

  • Oversee and maintain the company's food safety and quality management systems.
  • Investigation and resolution of customer complaints and NCRs regarding food quality and safety.
  • Coordinating the QA/QC verification activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
  • Conduct internal audits and manage third-party audits.
  • Train staff on food safety protocols and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on product safety, labelling, and shelf-life.
  • Develop and update SOPs, and other key documentation.
  • Maintaining and coordinating supplier relationships, specifications and certifications.
  • Managing QA responsibilities in relation to site NPD projects and trials.

About You:Demonstrated Capabilities

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within the Food or Beverage industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian food regulations.
  • Able to work autonomously, and collaborate well in a team.
  • Experience in performing quality control testing of fresh and frozen products including packaging assessments.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. With the ability to adapt style for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experienced in internal auditing, technical investigations and report writing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ISO standards and HACCP requirements in food processing.
