About us

Grange Resources (Tasmania) Pty Ltd is Australia's most experienced magnetite producer from its iron ore mining and pellet production business located in the North-West region of Tasmania.

The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine is a long-life mining asset where ore is mined and processed before it is transported by pipeline to the pellet plant and ship loading facility at Port Latta.

We are currently seeking reliable and highly motivated Mine Operations Supervisor to join our team at Savage River on a 4 on / 4 off roster.

About the role

As the Mine Operations Supervisor at Grange Resources (Tasmania) Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Savage River mining site in Tasmania. This full-time position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe execution of all mining activities, with a focus on maximising productivity and maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

What you'll be doing

  1. Coordinate, plan and supervise all open pit activities and meet the required production and quality targets as defined in the budgets and forecasts
  2. Monitor and analyse production data to identify opportunities for process improvements and optimisation
  3. Ensure all mining activities are carried out in accordance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
  4. Implement and enforce safety procedures to protect the wellbeing of the workforce
  5. Provide on-site leadership and mentorship to develop the skills and capabilities of the operations team
  6. Liaise with other departmental managers to ensure seamless integration of mining activities with broader site operations
  7. Monitor and control activities to ensure all loads are stockpiled or dumped in the correct location

What we're looking for

  1. Extensive experience (5+ years) in a mine operations supervisory role or as a senior mine operator
  2. Strong working knowledge of mining equipment, processes and safety protocols
  3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, production data and operational plans
  4. Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  5. Tertiary qualifications in Metalliferous Mining or a related discipline
  6. Current driver's licence and certification for operating heavy machinery
  7. Commitment to upholding the highest standards of workplace health and safety
