Business Support Officer

Our Local Council client is seeking an organised and proactive Business Support Officer to provide a range of professional administration and support to their team for 5-weeks pending confirmation of extension. This role plays a key part within ensuring smooth business operations, efficient communication and professional coordination across the unit.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
- Lead and deliver a range of administrative and business support functions including data and file management, raising purchase orders, preparing invoices and maintaining correspondence within Council's document management system.
- Coordinate meetings, diaries, travel and training logistics while assisting with the preparation of letters, spreadsheets, presentations and reports (including financial, WHS and budget reports).
- Provide day-to-day support to project teams which include managing agendas, taking minutes, responding to customer enquiries and acting as the first point of contact for delegated officers.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote efficiency, continuous improvement and service excellence while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
- Assist with assigned projects by reconciling financial transactions, generating progress reports and ensuring accurate stakeholder communication.
- Maintain accountability for information systems and record-keeping in line with Council policies and the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

- Demonstrated experience in administration or business support within government, public service or a similar environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data entry and the ability to quickly learn new systems (experience with ECM systems highly regarded).
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- A collaborative approach with confidence in liaising across teams and maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Sound understanding of purchasing, financial record-keeping, and general business administration practices.
